There are three types of Activation (sometimes called “recreation”) at Highview:
- Scheduled activities
- Spontaneous activities
- 1:1 Resident-to-staff
These are failure-free, specialized dementia activities and are chosen based upon a deep knowledge of our Resident’s life stories. Activities are designed to promote, support, and retain as much of their continued independence as possible for each Resident – and to help them to be involved and contributing to our Home. The program is unique for each Resident and designed for their stage of dementia. The wide range of activities could include making cookies, peeling potatoes, folding laundry, gardening, puzzles, games, exercises, singing with musicians, art, and much more.
